This Christmas 2015 holiday, I created a little mini tour for some out-of-town cousins who visited. We went on the entire tour in one day, minus the Smithsonian stop. It is completely car – accessible, but it was a lot to do in one day. I’ve broken it up into four spots so that if you have the time, you can try them one or two at a time.
Hint: Spot 1 and 2 are close by each other. Spot 3 and 4 are close by each other.

Spot #1: Northwestern High School, 7000 Adelphi Road Hyattsville, MD 20782. Jim Henson attended this high school in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Currently, there is a program called the Jim Henson Academy of Visual and Performing Arts. The sign on the building reads Jim Henson School of Arts, Media and Communications
Spot #2: University of Maryland, College Park Stamp Student Union 1021A Union Ln, College Park, MD 20742. In front of the Student Union, there is a Commemorative Statue of Jim Henson talking to Kermit. Sculptor : Jay Hall Carpenter.
